Six cups of sugar, 3 1/3 gallons of water, 2 oz. root beer extract and 4 lbs. of dry ice give you: A) homemade root beer, B) instant status at the BBQ where you bring it and C) flashbacks to the science teacher playing with dry ice and/or that Halloween cauldron of mystery.
I think it turned out pretty well. It’s a taste you have to appreciate for what it isn’t: a commercial root beer that’s more like a punch in the mouth.

I still don’t understand why a ribbon was cut. You put a shovel into the ground to mark the beginning of construction. You cut a ribbon when you’re done. Here, what we had was an accord. People sign things with fancy pens for accords. I just hope picking the wrong ceremony doesn’t reduce the ligitmacy of the whole thing.
