Was walking through a biergarten (beer garden) in the Englischergarten (English Garden - see how this works?) and a band was playing. So here’s what it sounds like:

Just outside of Munich is the first Nazi concentration camp, Dachau. It’s part of a small town of the same name. There isn’t much left of the original camp, but it is now a memorial site. Two of the barracks have been reconstructed and the “crematorium” is still there. That’s about it.
Visitors still enter through [...]

Not too far from München lie the summer home and hunting grounds for the old Bavarian royalty. Basically it’s two castles pretty near each other: the one Ludwig grew up in and the one he nearly finished building. The one he nearly finished building is the more famous of the two. Why? Because it’s the [...]

Well, the first session is over. I had two classes: Technical Protection of Authors’ Rights and International Patent law. They were both really good and went by suprisingly fast. On Saturday I had an exam for IPL, and will eventually have to write a paper for the other class. And that marks the mid-way point [...]

I’ve spent the first few days just wandering around Munich. Seems like the first day was nothing but churches. Since then I’ve just gone to different areas to check them out. It’s been raining the last couple days, so it’s been hard to see much outside.
School started on Monday, and classes have been interesting. They’re [...]

While here I have an apartment in a neighborhood called Schwabing-West. It’s a nice neighborhood, not too far from the city center. I’m in a building just above a grocery store and a restaurant or two. I’m on the 1st story, which is the 2nd story in US terms. It has been recently refurbished and [...]

I finally arrived. I think it took about 57 hours from the time I first arrived at Reagan, to when I left the Munich airport. That includes an 8 hour wait at the Munich airport for my luggage to arrive. Which it did! Apparently it continued on US Air flights, taking my original Munich flight [...]
