Before leaving DC, Joni and I had a list of things we wanted to do. Seeing the National Cathedral was one of them. We happened to go after the funeral of a dignitary. It was a little awkward wearing shorts and being touristy with all the mourners milling around.
While we were walking through, I felt something on my shoulder. It was this guy, who seemed to have dropped out of the air:

Look closely. There are two square blocks, left as unfinished gargoyles, to memorialize a stone carver who died while working on the Cathedral.
